The government today has started offering RM100 credit under the eMADANI initiative, as well as encouraging the use of digital wallets for physical transactions at various local shops. In parallel, it was announced that credit cannot be used for a number of purposes.
The following are among the things where eMADANI credit cannot be used, including:
Peer-to-peer transfers;
Cash redemption;
Utility bill payment is integrated with the e-wallet application;
Government-related fee payments are integrated with the e-wallet application;
Telecommunications postpaid and prepaid bills are integrated with the e-wallet application;
The purchase of games ('games') is integrated with the e-wallet application;
Parking fees and/or tolls;
Investment-related activities integrated with the e-wallet application; and
E-commerce transactions or online transactions.
For those of you who are over 21 years old, and have an income of less than RM100,000 per year, you can apply for eMADANI through four selected digital wallets, including MAE, ShopeePay, Touch n Go eWallet, and Setel.
