The satellite communication feature when there is no cellular network or WiFi has been standard on iPhones for the past year. On Android it is limited to some Huawei and Motorola models. Starting next year, Samsung and Oppo will also offer it.
Through information leaked today, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and the Oppo Find X7 Ultra are said to support satellite communication systems. A screenshot of the Galaxy S24 series interface shows that it can send SMS in case of emergency. On Oppo Find X7 Ultra, the same feature is also supported but not on Find X7 and Find X7 Pro.
This emergency satellite communication feature will most likely depend on the market. A year after this feature was given to the iPhone, Apple has not yet offered it in Malaysia. Huawei also only offers it to customers in China.
