Samsung has launched the Galaxy Tab A9 and Tab A9+ Kids Edition tablets in Indonesia. As the name suggests this new tablet combines functionality with parental controls and child-friendly safety features. Not only that, the Galaxy Tab A9 Kids Edition series also comes with a special casing to minimize the risk of damage due to carelessness.
With the Samsung Kids application, children are said to be able to use the camera feature and internet access more safely. The situation improves when parents can also limit the type of content and time that children can access. Also included is the Eye Comfort Shield feature which is very useful in protecting the eyes especially for use in dark environments.
Internal specification changes may be made. Where the Galaxy Tab A9 is still equipped with an 8.7″ HD+ screen with a 60Hz refresh rate. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Tab A9+ has an 11″ screen with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. Next, the MediaTek Helio G99 chip is used on the Galaxy Tab A9, and the plus variant features a Snapdragon 695 processor. Both are also equipped with Samsung Knox and Android 13-based One UI 5.1.1 software.
The selling price in Indonesia starts at IDR3,299,000 (~RM988) for the Galaxy Tab A9, and increases to IDR4,999,000 (~RM1,498) for the plus variant. No details on local market availability are known at this time. Even so, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9 standard variant is already on sale in Malaysia with a price starting at RM899.
