The First iPhone SE Is Now Classified a Vintage Apple Device

iPhone SE was first launched in March 2016. It was sold in Malaysia at a price of RM1949. After 4 years, the second generation was introduced in 2020 and the third generation, the 5G variant, in 2022. The year 2023 makes the first iPhone SE 7 years old and Apple has listed this device as a vintage product.

The first iPhone SE also no longer receives iOS updates with iOS 15 given two years ago being the last. The design of this device which is flat on each side takes inspiration from the iPhone 4 design which is now the new generation iPhone design. The iPhone SE was also one of the first iPhones that I bought myself.

By being listed as a vintage device, Apple will no longer carry out any repair work and release spare parts for it. With the iPhone SE 4 probably not launching until next year, it's too late for us to see a new generation iPhone SE.
