Adding Co-Pilot Key Is Not Mandatory For Laptop Developers

Microsoft announced big changes to the keyboard by adding new dedicated Copilot keys. The button will provide users with quick access to Copilot support on Windows 11 laptops. It is then said that Windows 11 computer manufacturers will integrate these keys on keyboards starting next February.

Although this addition is said not to be mandatory, at the same time the developer is also free to choose the location of its placement on the keyboard. This means that the placement of these buttons varies depending on the manufacturer but most of them target the right side of the Space Bar opposite the Windows key.

In some cases this key can replace the existing keyboard, for example the CTRL button on a large keyboard. There are also some other situations, the Co-Pilot may be able to share with the Menu key by pressing the Fn + Copilot key.

This clearly shows that Microsoft gives flexibility to laptop manufacturers. The new Acer Aspire and Swift series are among the laptops to feature a dedicated Copilot button on the keyboard to date.
