AEON Bank Also Receives Approval To Start Operations In Malaysia – The First Islamic Digital Bank

 

Along with the announcement involving Boost Bank, now AEON also announced that they have received approval from Bank Negara Malaysia and the Ministry of Finance to start their digital bank operations in Malaysia.

Named AEON Bank, it will be the first Islamic digital bank in Malaysia. As many are aware, previously GX Bank had started operations but it was not sharia-friendly. AEON Bank is seen to be the first Shariah-compliant bank among the five digital banks in Malaysia.

AEON Bank will start a test phase involving AEON employees first before it is extended to all. AEON Bank aims to introduce the application by the first half of 2024.
