Samsung Exynos 2400 Chip Launched With 10-Core, AMD GPU And Powerful AI

This year Samsung no longer offers a single processing chip for all new Galaxy S series. On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ are powered by the Exynos 2400 and the S24 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Despite this, all three devices still receive the same Galaxy AI features and Android version update support and 7-year security.

The Samsung Exynos 2400 chip is a chip for flagship devices. It has 10-core 1x 3.2 GHz Cortex-X4 + 2x 2.90 GHz Cortex-A720 + 3x 2.60 GHz Cortex-A720 + 4x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A520 and uses AMD RDNA 3 design based GPU, Xclipse 940. This chip is the fourth generation chip Samsung with a 4nm build, but this time it will operate at a cooler rate because it uses the Fan-Out Wafer-Level Package assembly process.

The Exynos 2400 also has the ability to process AI 14.7x faster, compared to the Exynos 2200. Samsung states that their new chip has an AI computing power of 17,000 MACS. This chip also supports modems with WiFi download speeds of 9.64Gbps and 5G 12.1Gbps. In addition, communication support with satellites is also integrated.

For the camera, the Exynos 2400 can power one 320MP sensor or two 64+32 MP 30fps sensors or support 108MP at 30fps. This chip also has a deep learning fusion engine to reduce the effect of noise on image results. 8K video recording is still limited to 30fps and video streaming now supports AV1. Display support can also reach up to 4K/QHD+ 120Hz.

So far the Exynos 2400 will only be used on the Samsung Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+. These two phones are sold at prices starting at RM4099 and RM4899. Who knows one day this chip will be like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 that is now also loaded in affordable devices? Together we follow the development of the new generation Exynos.
