Former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's lawyer, Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah today requested that the documentary Man on The Run be pulled from Netflix. Although the main subject of this documentary is Jho Low, he claims that the content of the documentary is sub judis and insults Datuk Seri Najib who is being tried in court on charges of corruption involving 1MDB.
Man on The Run has been shown on Netflix since January 5. According to Tan Sir Shafee, he found 160 statements in the documentary that were insulting to his client. Therefore he will also apply to the attorney general, SKMM and KDN to withdraw access to the screening of this documentary.
At the same time he was instructed by his client to file a lawsuit against former attorney general Tan Sri Tommy Thomas and owner of Sarawak Report Clare Rewcastle-Brown who issued several statements in the same documentary. Immediately after being shown on Netflix, Man on The Run entered the chart among the top 10 most viewed content in Malaysia.
