Facebook Introduces Link History Feature To Track Links

Today Facebook introduced a new Link History feature on the smartphone app. Through the screen displayed in the application, Facebook says Link History makes it easier for users to track any link that has been clicked from within the application so that it can be tracked again at a later date.

By default Link History is enabled for all users but you can turn it off via the button displayed on the screen. Although launched as a way for you to save links, Facebook says this feature will also be used by them to target ads that are more relevant to your interests. With iOS starting to block tracking and Android soon to include the same feature, this is Meta's latest move to collect user data that is increasingly difficult to do.

Link History data will be stored for 90 days before being deleted. At this time Link History is first given to users in the United States first and it will be activated to global users in stages.
