The Samsung Galaxy S24 series is the first to be offered as an AI device by Samsung. It can translate phone calls, generate text, give recommendations and do photo editing with the help of Galaxy AI. Although launched on the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung has confirmed that some of these new features will later be provided on their previously launched devices as well.
Samsung has not yet provided details on what features models such as the S23, Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 will receive. For sure it will depend on the specifications of the device since the Call Assist and Chat Assist features for example are AI models built into the device.
The chip used needs to have a powerful NPU to run it. Circle Search with Galaxy features and generative AI photo editing may be easier to deliver through software updates as they only require an internet connection to work. We will update the list of devices that will receive the Galaxy AI feature. Samsung simply says the update will be delivered in H1 2024.
