Galaxy AI Features On Samsung Devices Free Until End of 2025

With the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, all three of Samsung's new flagship smartphones are indirectly the first AI phones of 2024. Each phone comes with a built-in Samsung Gauss language model. But did you know that today Samsung announced the largest Google language model, Gemini, also integrated in the Galaxy S24 series?

Samsung said they were among the first Google customers to test the Gemini Ultra for the language model to handle complex tasks. In addition to Galaxy devices, Gemini Pro is used to power Samsung Notes, Samsung Keyboard and Samsung Voice Recorder as well as the Gallery application for the Generative Edit feature. Gemini Nano also has built-in multi-language model features in-device. This will help the AI feature on Google Messages.

Not only that, in their Malaysian website – Samsung states that the Galaxy AI feature is only free until the end of 2025 for supported Galaxy devices. Different terms may apply to third party services. Samsung has reportedly wanted to offer a subscription plan to use their AI services, as Midjourney and ChatGPT do.

Among the AI features offered through Galaxy AI are Call Assist, Note Assist, Chat Assistant, Generative Edit, Generative Expand or even Circle To Search with Google. It is highly likely that AI features to be paid for are cloud-dependent. By 2025 will you be paying to use Galaxy AI until the device ends support in 2032?
