Google has finally developed an ARM version of the Chrome web browser for Windows computers. So far Chrome is indeed supported on computers that use the Windows for ARM operating system but it is an X86 version that works through a proxy. As a result the performance of Chrome on Windows for ARM is slow.
A nafif ARM64 version was found in the latest version of Chrome Canary indicating that the full version will be released in the near future. With native support better performance will be enjoyed by users with ARM processor chips. With laptops with Snapdragon X Elite chips set to launch in H2 2024, Google is making early preparations to ensure Chrome will run smoothly.
So far the performance of the Snapdragon X Elite chip has been found to be able to match the capabilities of the Apple M2 series chip which also uses ARM architecture. Chrome for ARM chips on macOS has been offered for the past four years.
