Honda showed off a new logo dedicated to their electric vehicles (EVs) at CES. In the same event they also showed two EV concepts under the Honda 0 series, namely The Saloon and Space-Hub. The Honda 0 series got its name because it marks the company starting from scratch after venturing into the EV arena.
The Saloon is a sedan car with a boxy design that reminds us of Lamborghini cars from the 1980s. The vehicle has a spacious interior model and can change the driver's sitting posture depending on the situation. The interior design uses more environmentally friendly materials. The steering system is of the steer-by-wire type that does not have physical connections as used in the Cybertruck and Airbus airplanes.
Space-Hub is a van with a spacious interior. According to Honda this space can be easily modified to allow it to be used for various tasks. The Space-Hub steering wheel is of the yoke type that can be hidden when in self-driving mode.
The roof is made of large glass that provides a panoramic view. Like The Saloon, the Space-Hub has a slightly retro-looking boxy body complete with a square-shaped lighting system at the back.
Honda says the Honda 0 series will first be offered to the public through The Saloon as early as 2026. What's interesting here is that it's the same year the Sony Honda Mobility Afeela will be launched. This raises the question of whether Honda and Sony Honda Mobility have shared EV platforms and powertrains.
