Latest Windows Insider Update Removes Support For WordPad

Earlier this year, it was announced that WordPad document authoring software would be removed via a future operating system update. Recently, with the latest Windows Insider Canary update, Microsoft seems to have removed the software.

WordPad is the software of choice for many users for those who do not want to buy or subscribe to Microsoft Office software to use Microsoft Word, especially when their task is only to write normal documents that can be done in .txt or .rtf format.

In fact, with the absence of WordPad software, Microsoft advises the public to use Microsoft Word text processing software that needs to be purchased or subscribed to through the Microsoft Office software suite after the next update officially removes it.

In the meantime, this Windows Insider Canary update will also remove some other features such as support for the digital assistant Cortana and also the People application from the operating system. It is expected that when the Canary update is introduced in general later, it will also no longer be shown on the Windows 11 operating system.

Cortana and People are expected to be replaced by Co-Pilot artificial intelligence software that has already started to be loaded into other Microsoft software such as Teams and so on.
