Amazon launched the Matter Casting system which is used to broadcast content on smartphones to televisions or smart screens. It is an open system that uses the Matter protocol to offer features like Apple AirPlay and Google Cast.
Currently Matter Casting only supports broadcasts from Android and iOS devices to FireTV and Echo Show 15 devices. Among the apps that support Matter Casting is Prime TV with it also coming to Plex, Pluto TV, Sling TV, STARZ, and ZDF towards the end year.
It has previously been reported that Amazon is developing a new standard to standardize the feature of streaming content from smart devices to TVs and smart screens. With all the world's major device manufacturers agreeing to support the Matter standard, Matter Casting support on devices other than Fire TV will surely be announced in the near future.
