Yesterday Microsoft became the second company to reach a market value of $3 trillion (~RM14.19 trillion) for a while after the stock hit $404. After the stock market closed, Microsoft's market value is now around $2.99 trillion. The first company to reach a market value of $3 trillion was Apple in June last year.
Microsoft's stock value has soared recently after the company began to integrate various AI capabilities into its products such as Windows 11 and Copilot. Two weeks ago Microsoft overtook Apple as the most valuable company in the world. But as of now Apple is back on top with a market value of $3.01 trillion after the stock market closed.
It took Microsoft less than five years to increase their market value from $1 trillion in April 2019 to $3 trillion. They will reach a market value of $2 trillion in June 2021. Apart from Apple and Microsoft, only Saudi Aramco has ever reached a market value of $2 trillion so far.
