Microsoft Designer Updated To Avoid Porn Images Generated By AI

Following the incident of the spread of pornographic images of Taylor Swift generated by generative artificial intelligence (AI), Microsoft has updated the terms and conditions of use of their Designer service. Through the new terms and conditions, users are prohibited from generating images that fall into the categories of pornographic, violent, criminal activities and more.

The pornographic image of Taylor Swift is believed to have been generated using Microsoft Designer by a member of the 4Chan forum through a prom technique that bypassed the security system put in place by Microsoft. Following this incident, X has banned searches using the keyword Taylor Swift on their site since last weekend. Actions that have never been done before led Elon Musk to announce an online security team was formed before as an emergency measure.

The team was fired almost entirely a year ago after Musk took over the company because it was deemed unnecessary since X was an "absolute free speech site". Because of the incident involving the person who was crowned the most influential person of 2023, drastic measures were taken by X and Microsoft because it may become a liability in the future if not done.
