MITI Will Reexamine Target For 10,000 Electric Vehicle Charging Stations By 2025

MITI Minister, Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz has now stated that they will re-examine the target of 10,000 electric vehicle charging stations by the year 2025 that was previously set. This is because the target is still far from being achieved compared to the number of electric vehicle charging stations today.

To date, there are nearly 1500 electric charging stations operating in Malaysia.

The target is seen as quite aggressive and difficult to achieve compared to what was originally planned. This is because the installation of an electric vehicle charging station takes several factors, including approval by the Energy Commission and also local authorities, as well as several other parties.
