Nearby Share Officially Changed To Quick Share On All Android Devices

Google today confirmed the Nearby Share file sharing feature on Android devices and Chromebooks is changing to Samsung-developed Quick Share. The announcement was made by Google at the CES event this morning.

It has also been confirmed that the Quick Share feature will also start to be offered on PCs with LG being the first company to use it. The Nearby Share and Quick Share features are the same, which is a wireless file sharing system similar to AirDrop on Apple devices. It replaces the Fast Share feature that has been used so far. According to Google, all Android devices that currently use Nearby Share will receive an update to Quick Share starting next month.
