NVIDIA RTX Graphics Cards Can Now Convert SDR Video To HDR

HDR video content looks more dynamic and alive on the device screen. But not all online content is processed with HDR meta data which causes the video to look lifeless. Today NVIDIA announced new driver software that enables the SDR to HDR video conversion feature on all GeForce RTX series graphics cards.

Support is given to desktop and laptop versions of RTX graphics cards connected to monitors that can display HDR10 content. SDR video streamed through Chromium-based web browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge will be automatically converted to HDR. NVIDIA's artificial intelligence is used to convert video to HDR in real time. After the latest driver software is installed, this feature only needs to be enabled via the NVIDIA Control Panel.
