Tonight, OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 12 series and OnePlus Buds Pro 3 for the global market. The specifications for the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Buds 3 are the same as the previous Chinese market. Now just waiting for the official price for the Malaysian market only. What stands out is the OnePlus 12R, the most powerful affordable flagship device on the market.
There is no doubt that the OnePlus 12R is just the Ace 3 for the global market. What is interesting is that after 3 generations (9R, 10R and 11R) were introduced in India and in China, for the first time this device will be widely marketed including in Malaysia. The OnePlus 12R has a lot in common with the OnePlus 12 but the internals are similar to the OnePlus 11. The device does not have Hasselblad camera support but the same 50MP camera sensor as the OnePlus 11 which is the Sony IMX890. The screen is also larger with LPTO4 support (a first for OnePlus), Dolby Vision, brightness up to 4500 nits and Aqua Touch which allows the screen to be touched even when wet.
The design is more or less the same since the OnePlus 10 with minor changes such as the notification drop-down switch is now on the right side for a better antenna, while the volume and power buttons are placed on the left side or on the rear panel finish. OnePlus 12R runs OxygenOS 14 based on Android 14 with Trinity Engine. The 100W SuperVOOC charging support that was previously used on the OnePlus 10T is retained, it lacks waterproof protection,
The selling price for the global market is $499.99 (~RM2364) for 8/128 GB and $599.99 (~RM2836) for 16/256 GB. The selling price of the OnePlus 12R is around RM1400 cheaper than the OnePlus 12 for the American market (~RM3782, ~RM4254). OnePlus only offers two colors so far which are Cool Blue or Iron Gray.
