The Putrajaya Corporation has now announced that they will start testing trackless tram transport from 1 February 2024, until December 2024. This introduction coincides with the Putrajaya Open Day, offering free rides on this tram for four days, between 1 and 4 February 2024.
With this offer, it simultaneously provides alternative public transport options for those visiting Putrajaya, as well as for Putrajaya residents themselves. More information regarding ticket prices and so on is expected to be shared in the near future.
Previously, the world's first hydrogen-powered ART tram had also arrived in Sarawak, since August 2023. We may also see the use of trams in some other areas in the coming months.
