Riot Games Cancels Intentions To Develop Twitch Competitor


 Riot has recently announced the layoff of 11% of their workforce, impacting a number of projects in development at the company. One of the projects that was also affected and canceled due to the layoffs was a project to develop an alternative to Twitch.



The project named as REN or Riot's Esports Network had to be canceled in line with the reduction in the number of their employees.


Riot initially aimed to integrate major games such as League of Legends and Valorant to focus on the streaming service. For information, these two games are also popular to watch on Twitch.


For now, it is not known whether Riot will continue the project in the future or otherwise. Also for information, Twitch has also fired a number of their employees recently.
