Masimo Corp launched the Masimo Freedom smart watch with the ability to detect the concentration of oxygen in the blood. It is their first smart hand released for public use as previously they only offered products for use in the medical industry. Freedom was launched after Masimo successfully blocked the sale of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 in the United States for infringing their oximeter patent.
The watch has a round shaped face with control buttons on and a privacy button on the left side. Meanwhile on the right side there is a contact to scroll the screen. It can track water levels in the body, heart rate, respiration levels, track sleep and detect if the wearer falls.
According to Masimo, the sensor on the Freedom is the most accurate on the market because it takes into account the wearer's skin color, movement and blood flow. 30 years of expertise in producing medical devices is used by Masimo at Freedom. Masimo Freedom is sold at a price of $999 (~RM4709) each.
