This May Be The Reason Why Samsung Galaxy S24 Does Not Support Qi2

Many expect this year to see many devices and accessories supporting Qi2 begin to be offered. The Apple iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 continue to support it with the iOS 17 update. The Pixel 9 will likely be supported, other Chinese devices are still missing and recently the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is also missing. Why?

According to 9to5Google, Samsung stated that their customers still did not ask for Qi2 support to be included. But after I did a little research over the weekend, the real answer may be that Samsung is afraid of magnets. Again on the Galaxy S24 Ultra and to preserve the S-Pen, the S24 series remains with Qi support limited to 7.5W compared to 15W on the Qi2.

Since the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung has realized that the magnet on the device will affect the performance of the S-Pen. The screen cannot detect the S-Pen when the stylus tip is in an area of the screen close to a magnet. Samsung's solution is to press the S-Pen harder on the screen.

Galaxy Note 8, S-Pen not detected

Even though the S-Pen is getting more and more advanced, the problem with the S-Pen is still happening to this day. In fact, Dbrand also issued a statement in which their Grip frame for the Galaxy S24 Ultra with MagSafe also affected the use of the S-Pen so they had to replace it with a new Grip without MagSafe.

This means we should wait for the Galaxy S25 series or see if Samsung will still bring Qi2 support to their other devices this year or continue to skip this technology?
