WhatsApp is now seen to be developing a fast file sharing feature, similar to what Apple offers through AirDrop or Android through QuickShare. With this step, file transfer takes place between devices, without having to be uploaded by the sender and downloaded back by the recipient.
Through the latest development version on Android shared by WABetaInfo, this feature shows that users can easily share files with those nearby through the WhatsApp application.
According to the screenshot shown, it shows that both users need to open the application to send and receive documents and files. Transfer and distance limits are not known yet, but WhatsApp supports sending files up to 2GB through their application.
For now, it is not known when WhatsApp will introduce this new feature officially. We look forward to hearing more about this interesting feature.
