A number of Intel CPU series have been banned from sale in Germany for violating patent rights

Banning the sale of electronic products due to copyright or patent infringement in a number of countries or regions is not something new. Previously, Apple had to stop selling the Apple Watch in the United States for violating the oximeter scanner patent.

Recently, it has been reported that Intel, the leading global semiconductor chip maker and manufacturer, is also seen to face the same problem in Germany, where the country's court has found that they infringed on the use of voltage regulator component patents owned by R2 Semiconductors.

Because of this, Intel has been banned and blocked from selling a number of their processor chip series, including the Intel Ice Lake, Intel Tiger Lake and Intel Alder Lake and Intel Xeon Ice Lake Server processor chip series.

Of all these CPU series, only the Alder Lake CPU series is still sold for desktop and laptop category computers. Ice Lake and Tiger Lake, Intel's 10th and 11th generation mobile processor chip series have already been discontinued, and will not affect the company.

For Intel's 13th and 14th generation Intel Raptor Lake, Raptor Lake Refresh and even Intel Meteor Lake processor chips, they are not affected by this copyright infringement issue, and can be sold in all markets without any problems.

Intel also said that they will contest this court decision to allow them to continue selling their Alder Lake processing chips.
