Android Users In Singapore Will Be Prevented From Installing Apps By Sideloading (Sideloading)

Google will now test a new security and safety feature, where it will prevent Android users in Singapore from installing sideloading applications. Singapore will be the first country to be tested with such a feature, before it is seen whether it is extended to other countries or vice versa.

This side-loading blocking feature was jointly developed by Google and the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, in an effort to curb cyber security problems, which mainly result from the installation of APK applications on Android devices, without security verification and so on.

According to this new feature, it will prevent installation if an application requests permission to some access. Google will gradually introduce this new update to all Android devices in Singapore, where the update will be offered through Google Play Protect.
