Cooler Master Sues Several Companies For Infringing Several Patents

Cooler Master, a brand that makes computer equipment and accessories, has recently been reported to have sued several other computer equipment manufacturers for infringing on several patents held by the company.

In summary, Cooler Master has sued SilverStone, Enermax, and Apaltek in California for infringing a patent where a pump motor is used in the CPU cooling radiator. Normally, the pump component would be mounted on the CPU cooler side, but Cooler Master seems to hold a patent where it is mounted on the radiator side for more efficient coolant flow and can extend the life of the pump.

Not only that, these three companies are also being sued by Cooler Master for infringing another patent regarding the use of a compact ARGB lighting controller, but the main suit is for the use of the pump.

Cooler Master also provided several examples of products that infringe this patent, including SilverStone IceMyst 240 and SilverStone IceGem 360 AIO, Aquafusion ADV AIO and LiqMax III ARGB AIO, among other coolers.

What is interesting about this lawsuit is that Cooler Master did not file a lawsuit against big companies like MSI and NZXT who also openly use the same technology and patents. So far this lawsuit is still ongoing, and it is not known if these companies will have to pay compensation for the infringement of this patent.
