As previously announced, the Digital Economy Center (PEDi) will be rebranded. Yesterday at MWC Barcelona, Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil announced that PEDi will use the new name National Information Dissemination Center (NADI) starting March 1.
The role of all 911 NADI centers across the country will be expanded. A further 186 new centers will open by the end of this year. NADI will be the center for the public to learn about government initiatives such as AI for the people as well as the dissemination of information on programs, activities, assistance, efforts, and the list of government assistance.
The rebranding of PEDi to NADI was done after a poll conducted found that only people high up near the PEDi center knew of its existence. After the branding it is hoped that NADI will be used not only by the local community but more widely since the government has spent a large amount.
