"Force of the Future" Expected to Focus on Non-Traditional Threats in Malaysia

With the world entering the digital era, now various forms of "war" are being targeted in the form of cyber attacks, digital threats and so on. In an effort to continue to strengthen the national defense system, the Minister of Defense is now sharing the Defense White Paper which touches on a number of issues. One of them is related to the readiness of the Future Force.

This Future Force will focus on non-traditional threats – especially on digital threats such as cyber-attacks, hacking, etc. Not to mention in the era of adaptation of artificial intelligence and big data, national defense also needs to be continuously strengthened with various new defenses and protections.

Many analysts are ready to target battles and wars involving digital participation – including the use of drones and so on. Today itself, it is said that drones have been used for smuggling and so on. So, the defense also needs to overcome this problem, in addition to reading and disabling the effort.

The Minister of Defense also asked various parties to provide input and opinions related to the Mid-Term Review (KSP) of the Defense White Paper (KPP), in an effort to continue to improve, as well as produce valuable findings for the country.
