Google Bard Now Becomes Gemini – Can Be Used As Android Device's Virtual Assistant

As rumored for the past week, Google has rebranded Bard as Gemini starting today. This artificial intelligence (AI) will be able to be used as a virtual assistant replacing Assistant on Android devices. Because it is based on Gemini Pro's AI model, it can perform various tasks such as performing information searches, generating captions for pictures, generating code for software, suggesting ideas and more.

This is done by downloading the Gemini app directly on the device. When the user invokes the virtual assistant, the option to replace Assistant with Gemini will be given. Gemini can still perform all Assistant tasks such as setting an alarm and more.

On iOS, Gemini can be accessed through the Google application. Press the Gemini icon in the app and the same feature can be used. But Gemini's user experience is smoother with better integration on the Android platform.

Gemini will be accessible to users in the United States only starting today. Global users will receive it gradually in the coming weeks. It will support only English, Japanese and Korean on the app version. Meanwhile, the web version of Gemini supports 40 major world languages. Other language support will be provided in stages.
