Recently, there have been reports that Reddit is making money by licensing content to train artificial intelligence. Now, via Reuters, it is reported that the party that licenses Reddit content is Google.
It is said that Google pays $60 million a year to license Reddit content and use it in training their artificial intelligence. However, Google and Reddit have not issued any official comments regarding this matter.
Reddit has previously started charging for API access, leading to content licensing speculation. With this move, we may also see Reddit also license content to other parties, thus further increasing their income.
