Google Starts Bringing Quick Share Features To Other Android Devices

Nearby Share is Google's fast wireless file sharing feature as Apple's answer to AirDrop. But before Google introduced this feature, Android device manufacturers had come up with their respective systems such as Xiaomi Mi Share, Samsung Quick Share, and OnePlus Share.

Then Xiaomi, Oppo and vivo support each other's delivery system. Google has standardized the sharing feature by changing the name of Nearby Share to Quick Share a few weeks ago through the collaboration of Samsung. This new version of Quick Share was then given to the Samsung Galaxy S24 series only.

Today other Android users like Pixel 8, Pixel 7, OnePlus 11, Poco X6 Pro and Xiaomi 13 have also received the update to this new Quick Share along with new icons. With this update, other Samsung Galaxy users can use Quick Share to other Android devices. Samsung users who want to share using QR codes now have a 5GB limit compared to the previous 3GB.
