The MWC Barcelona stage is often used to showcase innovations in the world of technology. Fast charging technology, a pop-up camera, periscope zoom and wireless charging are among the first ever shown at MWC. This time at MWC Barcelona, Infinix showed the first thermoelectric cooling system for a smartphone.
The Infinix CoolMax cooling system combines a physical fan system with a thermoelectric cooling pad (TEC). Through this system, Infinix says the Dimensity 9300 processor can be cooled by up to 10 degrees Celsius when performing the Antutu 3D test. As a result 2,215,639 marks were successfully recorded making it the highest for a smartphone.
TEC technology is commonly used on external cooling fans such as the Black Shark Gaming Cooler. It is not placed inside because when the cooling is done, water droplets will form which can damage the components. It is not known how Infinix managed to prevent this issue from happening on the inside of the device.
Also announced is the Extreme-Temp Battery technology that allows the device's battery to be charged even at extreme temperatures of -40 degrees Celsius. Normally the charger cannot work at this extreme cold temperature because the battery also stops working. Both of these technologies will be used on devices that will be launched by Infinix in the near future.
