The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast is no longer exclusive to the Spotify platform. This was announced by Spotify after Joe Rogan continued their collaboration for several more years with a contract value rumored to reach over RM900 million.
Through this new agreement, Spotify will share ad revenue with Rogan and JRE can now be offered on other platforms such as Apple and YouTube. JRE and Spotify signed an exclusive deal in 2020 with it becoming the most streamed podcast on the platform.
Since Rogan on Spotify, the number of podcast streams on the platform has increased by over 200 percent. But at the same time it also brought various controversies such as Rogan spreading inaccurate information causing some artists to pull their catalogs from Spotify.
