The Apple App Store is often said to be the most secure mobile app store on the market right now, but it appears that a popular app is being copied and is appearing in the store to steal the details of users who aren't aware of the difference.
LastPass has today issued a warning that there is an application called LassPass that comes with a very similar application icon design, even when the application is opened, the login page also resembles the original application login.
This fake LassPass app reportedly collects login details of LastPass users and in the App Store warehouse shows only one five-star rating with the developer's name listed as Parvati Patel.

The developers of LastPass say they are in talks with Apple to ensure that the app is removed from the App Store out of fear that people will be tricked into entering their LastPass email and password and unknowingly giving it to these hacking groups.
Usually, Apple emphasizes the security of their App Store by ensuring that applications that want to be included are first tested for security and various other issues such as data falsification and so on. This is one of the rare incidents where such applications pass Apple's strict oversight.
