At MWC Barcelona Lenovo has updated its ThinkPad T14 and T16 series computers with more powerful chips. Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 comes with a 14" 2.8K OLED 120Hz screen, paired with an Intel Core Ultra chip as well as vPro or AMD Ryzen 8040, memory up to 64GB DDR5 RAM and 2TB PCIe Gen4x4 SSD storage.
A pair of included speakers support Dolby audio. A 5MP web camera is also offered with infrared emitter support for Windows Hello. A physical shutter that covers the camera is provided for those who care about privacy. A conventional fingerprint scanner is also placed on the power button. The keyboard has a special button to activate Windows Copilot.
I/O options are 2x USB-C Thunderbolt 4 (on Intel models), 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x RJ45 and a 3.5nm audio jack. Through the SIM, connection to the 5G network can be done and there is also support for WiFi 7. The supplied battery has a capacity of 52.5Whr.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T16 Gen 5 has comparable specifications, only a 16" screen up to 4K OLED, Dolby Atmos support and a battery up to 86Whr. Selling prices for both models have not yet been announced.
