MediaTek Partners With Google For Chips Optimized For Gemini Nano

MediaTek has now announced a collaboration with Google, as well as including specific optimizations for Google's language model, the Gemini Nano. With this move, it will make it easier for device manufacturers to include built-in artificial intelligence support on devices, while improving performance in the use of artificial intelligence-based generation features.

MediaTek stated that two of their processing chips come with this Gemini Nano optimization support, namely Dimensity 9300 and Dimensity 8300.

With this integration, it simultaneously makes artificial intelligence-based generation run directly on the device instead of using internet-based access. At the same time, it provides more privacy to users, in addition to the ability to use artificial intelligence on devices without internet access.

Parallel to this announcement, MediaTek and Google also plan to introduce a special APK to help developers and device manufacturers in including Gemini Nano in their respective applications.
