Meizu Stops Producing Smartphones And Shifts Completely To AI Devices

Meizu officially announced they will no longer produce smartphones. Instead they are now fully focused on producing their first AI device which will be launched this year.

This sudden change was made by Meizu after finding that people's demand for new devices is decreasing with an average of replacing old devices every 51 months. The development of Meizu 21 PRO, Meizu 22, and Meizu 23 has now been terminated.

Although it will no longer produce new smartphones, Meizu is committed to supporting existing devices by continuing the development of the FlyMe operating system. What the first AI device will be launched is still a mystery. Maybe even just a smartphone with full AI integration like Samsung and Google have been doing since earlier this year.

To ensure the success of their direction, Meizu said they will also collaborate with other AI companies such as OpenAI. This is not the first time the direction of the company has been changed, after being taken over by Geely it was rumored that Geely brand smartphones would be sold but until now there has been no update.
