Meta Expected to Showcase Augmented-Reality Smart Glasses This Year

While Apple just introduced Apple Vision Pro for accessing augmented-reality content, now it looks like Meta is taking it one step further. According to the latest reports, Mark Zuckerberg is expected to show smart glasses with augmented reality support this year.

These smart glasses are known internally as "Orion", which allows users to wear them and enjoy augmented-reality content easily. Meta is expected to show off the smart glasses at a developer-focused event by Meta later this year.

It is said that it may take several years before the glasses are marketed to the public. As many are aware, a number of challenges need to be resolved before it is widely marketed – including in terms of battery life, content and application offerings, and others.

However, offering augmented-reality content in the form of smart glasses is expected to provide more comfort to users than having to use a headset – which causes discomfort after using for a while.

As always, let's all look forward to what surprises Meta provides through their smart glasses later.
