The mayor of New York City has announced that the city administration has filed a lawsuit against a number of social media companies, including Facebook, TikTok and YouTube. The suit was filed saying the social media service is leading to harm and a mental health crisis among youth and children.
Before this, several lawsuits have also been filed saying that social media services make their services and applications addictive and youths spend a lot of time on them.
Some social media services already state that they provide some control features, in addition to working with the community in maintaining security on the application.
