Much has been made of Nintendo's upcoming console, which is currently named the Nintendo Switch 2. Many expect it to be unveiled this year, and come with graphics capabilities on par with many of today's mobile console offerings.
What many people want to know is whether this new console can still play previous Nintendo Switch games. Some leakers of information related to Nintendo products have confirmed that this new console is being tested, and one of those tests is to see if this new console can run the original Nintendo Switch games without any problems.
Because of this, there are also those who expect that in order to maintain compatibility between generations, the Nintendo Switch 2 console will once again be powered by another NVIDIA processing chip.
Where the original Nintendo Switch uses a system processor in the NVIDIA Tegra X1 chip, the upcoming processing chip is expected to be powered by an Orin SoC that uses an Ampere graphics processing chip, which is expected to also come with DLSS support for beautiful graphics processing even at resolutions and display sizes that are not so big
That being said, official specific details about the Nintendo Switch 2 have yet to be announced, but it's hard to contain the excitement about it as this will be the first time the console will show improvements in terms of performance, and support the previous generation's gaming software offerings.
