Yesterday evening, Nothing has announced that the Nothing Phone (2a) which is the successor to their Phone (1) will be powered by a Dimensity 7200 Pro chip specially designed together with MediaTek. The device targets the premium mid-range market and brings the unique features of Phone (2) to a cheaper phone.
The full specifications of the device have also been leaked. The screen used is a 6.7-inch AMOLED with HDR10+ support and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 7200 Pro chip was matched with memory options up to 12GB RAM and internal storage up to 256GB. The camera of the device is ISOCELL S5KG9 50MP (OIS) and ISOCELL JN1 50MP. While the selfie camera remains the same 32MP as the previous device.
The device's battery is said to be the largest in Nothing's history at 5000mAh with 45W fast charging support. It will also have IP54 waterproof and dustproof protection. Phone (2a) will run Nothing OS 2.5.2 based on newer Android 14. Among the unique features is Smart Clean for faster data transfer and can generate background images with AI.
Nothing Phone (2a) will be launched on March 5, 2024. At the upcoming MWC Barcelona 2024 event, Nothing is also expected to reveal the actual design of their new device. Let's wait for more details about it.
