Generative AI can now be run directly from a laptop equipped with hardware that exceeds the minimum specifications. Because AI is now the magic buzzword that led their company to a recent $2 trillion market value, NVIDIA announced two new series of GPUs for laptops.
NVIDIA RTX 500 and RTX 1000 Ada Generation target use among native creators, professionals, engineers and researchers who need good AI capabilities on a laptop. It is equipped with a third generation RT core, a fourth generation Tensor core, and an Ada Generation CUD core. The NVIDIA RTX 500 will be equipped with 4GB of RAM while the RTX 1000 Ada Generation will be equipped with 6GB of RAM.
Among the things that this GPU can do is remove noise on videos that you want to edit, improve image quality and use generative AI to produce content. According to NVIDIA this new GPU can offer a performance increase of up to 14x using Stable Diffusion, 3x in image editing and 10x in generating 3D objects when compared to just using CPU power.
NVIDIA RTX 500 and RTX 1000 Ada Generation GPUs will be available on Dell Technologies, HP, Lenovo and MSI laptops by spring.
