OM System OM-1 Mark II Launched With 20-Megapixel Sensor

The OM System OM-1 Mark II has been launched as a new interchangeable lens camera (ILC). The camera is seen to share many similarities with the OM System OM-1 that was announced in February 2022.

The camera is equipped with a 20 megapixel 4/3″ BSI LIVE MOS sensor with a 5-axis IBIS stabilization system and a TruePic X image processing chip. This combination allows high-resolution images to be produced, as well as being assisted by Automatic White Balance (AWB) Algorithms for results colors are clearer even in low lighting.

Through this sensor, the camera can also record video at 4K UHD/DCI video settings up to 60fps, and 10-but 4:2:2 sampling. FHD recording can also be done up to 240fps, in addition to supporting HLG for HDR recording and OM-Log gamma which makes the color grading process better.

The really interesting thing about this camera is of course the built-in Live GND (graduated neutral density) function for more interesting image results. In addition, other special imaging functions such as 50M Handheld High-Res Shot Mode and 80M Tripod High-Res Shot Mode are provided for high-resolution image capture with minimal noise.

The autofocus system is also better with more accurate detection especially for fast moving subjects and can reach eight subjects in one frame. The camera also supports vertical video capture, which is perfect for sharing on social media.

In addition to being compatible with UVC (USB Video Class)/UAC (USB Audio Class) for connection to a PC for web camera use. The EVF is an OLED type with 5.76 million dots with 0.83X magnification, and all components have been loaded into a body that is also IP53 dust and splash proof.

The selling price starts at $2,399 (~RM11,340.07) for the body only, and reaches $3,000 (~RM14,181.00) with the matching OM System M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro II sensor.
