This year, Samsung has changed their smartphone marketing strategy by focusing on software rather than hardware, more or less with Google. Other devices have also started to include similar features but still not as good as Samsung's. Coming soon, it's Oppo's turn to enter the AI arena.
Oppo AI Center has recently been established. This AI center will be a place where Oppo explores and tests the AI capabilities that will be provided to users. In the second quarter of this year, Oppo will distribute an update to users of the Oppo Reno11 series so that various generative AI features can be used. Among them is the OPPO AI Eraser which can delete objects just like the Magic Eraser and also a phone call summary feature such as Call Assist on the Samsaung Galaxy S24 will also be included.
Oppo named their new strategy as "Smartphone AI development". Their standard is that the device needs to use all the computing power for AI, AI that can see the environment and understand the complex information of the user and the atmosphere, the AI device can learn on its own and finally this AI can continue to provide knowledge and inspiration to the user.
Oppo's AI features are powered by their unique language model (LLM) which is AndesGPT. It is claimed to have 180 billion parameters, focusing on improving dialogue, customization, collaboration between devices and the cloud, creation, focus on knowledge and memory and tools. All these AI features have been available on the Oppo Find X7 series which is still limited in China and will continue to grow starting with the Reno11 series.
