Samsung Galaxy Ring May Arrive in July With ECG and Could Be a Device Controller

At the Unpacked event in San Jose last January, the existence of the Samsung Galaxy Ring was teased. Samsung hasn't shared much information about this smart ring except that it's a device that can track health as well as the Galaxy Watch.

According to a ET News report today, the Galaxy Ring will be launched next July. In the same report, this smart ring is said to have an ECG sensor, track sleep, track pulse and can be used as a control tool for other devices. Through the NFC system, it makes non-cash payments. More interesting is that the Galaxy Ring will be offered in eight sizes depending on the wearer's finger.

What devices the Galaxy Ring can control is still open to speculation. Maybe just the camera app on a Galaxy phone. But in our opinion it would also be quite interesting if it could be used together with the Galaxy AR headset which is being developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm.

One drawback of the Vision Pro is that there is no physical controller which makes the interaction in the AR world not very user friendly. Physical controls are still required as provided on Meta Quest 3 and PICO.
