The Samsung Knox data encryption system was introduced by Samsung on smartphones before being expanded to tablets. With Knox, Samsung gives users the relief that the data in the device is safe from snooping. Today Samsung said Knox will also be offered on its upcoming 2024 smart televisions.
Knox has just received Common Criteria (CC) certification which is recognized in 31 countries to assess the security integrity of IT products. Samsung has now achieved CC certification for 10 consecutive years for Samsung Knox.
CC certification confirms Samsung Knox can detect hacking attempts in real time on the Tizen OS operating system. It also passes the standard of ability to prevent any phishing attempts when the web browser is used on the TV. Finally, Knox protects users' personal information through the Samsung Knox Vault extension.
Samsung's smart TVs for 2024 were shown at CES. Typically it will start to be marketed in H2 2024.
