Shopee is now informing sellers and users of their e-commerce platforms regarding the increase in charge rates on their platforms – in line with the increase in SST tax. Previously, the government was ready to determine which SST service tax would be increased from the existing rate of 6% to 8% with effect from 1 March 2024.
In line with this, service charges on Shopee also show an increase - including transaction charges, commission charges, and various other charges.
A number of companies have also notified local users regarding the increase in charges, including TikTok Shop and Google. For sellers on Shopee, can be aware of this charge, and plan better to sell through the platform.
